We are looking to fill the following roles:

BEVERLY WESTON
Portrayed as a 69 year old male.
The patriarch of the Weston family. A writer and teacher whose first book of poems won him critical acclaim and a degree of fame in the 1960s, Beverly is grizzled and jaded. He is also a self-professed alcoholic who has decided to stop trying to quit drinking and instead devote himself to it fully.

VIOLET WESTON
Portrayed as a 65 year old female.
Beverly’s wife, the matriarch of the family. Cruel, emotionally abusive, and addicted to narcotic pain killers, she bitterly manipulates everyone, especially her children. Violet creates turbulence throughout the home, viciously manipulating everyone in her path, appearing to revel in her cruelty.

BARBARA FORDHAM
Portrayed as a 46 year old female
The eldest daughter carries both the hardness of her mother and the sensitivity of her father, but neither with a fullness of conviction. Returning to the trauma of her family of origin while dealing with her own fracturing family, she tries to control both with a sharp tongue and quick wit that often fail her.

BILL FORDHAM
Portrayed as a 49 year old male
Barbara’s husband, Bill, is a university professor who tries to approach life from a rational, detached perspective. He often fails, getting pulled in by the family’s toxic battles, his own emotional baggage, and his wife’s refusal to let him reason away bad behavior.

JEAN FORDHAM
Portrayed as a 14 year old female but played by an actress at least 18 years of age due to themes of the show.
Barbara and Bill’s daughter is both intellectually bright and emotionally dim. Her attempts to use escapism as a coping mechanism fail to relieve her from the inescapable family drama.

IVY WESTON
Portrayed as a 44 year old female
The middle daughter, she is an introverted caretaker who never left the area or her suffocating parents. Yet, she dreams of big things and far away places. Publicly, she stands up for herself just to step back down when family pressures mount.

KAREN WESTON
Portrayed as a 40 year old female
The Weston’s youngest daughter is the most emotionally needy. She longs for acceptance that she hasn’t received from her family of origin or her long line of failed romantic relationships. She has not been home for many years and has an overdeveloped ability to make excuses for toxic behavior.

MATTIE FAY AIKEN
Portrayed as a 57 year old female
Violet’s younger sister has responded to their childhood trauma, covering her deep-seeded anger with humor and rambunctiousness. She is controlling of her husband, but saves her cruelest attacks for her son, the only person who never escapes her constant critique.

CHARLIE AIKEN
Portrayed as a 60 year old male
Mattie Fay’s husband, he has been beaten down by years of her overwhelming personality – or maybe this trait attracted her in the first place. He attempts to defend his son and bring some calm to the family, but he does not contain the strength of conviction necessary to overcome the family’s dysfunction.

LITTLE CHARLES AIKEN
Portrayed as a 37 year old male
The infantilized son of Mattie Fae and Charlie, he is unprepared to navigate the world, let alone his family. He lacks both initiative and resourcefulness which make him the constant butt of his mother’s jokes. But he has somehow remained tender-hearted, even if ineffective.

JOHNNA MONEVATA
Portrayed as a 26 year old Native American
A local member of the Cheyenne tribe, she is hired as the Weston’s live-in housekeeper. Despite the raging conflict and interpersonal drama that fills the home, she somehow remains detached yet committed to complete the job she has accepted.

STEVE HEIDEBRECHT
Portrayed as a 50 year old male
Karen’s fiance, this is his first encounter with the Weston family. He is the type that will say and do what it takes to get what he wants. He insists he is a great businessman and boyfriend, but you’ll be hard pressed to find specific examples.

SHERIFF DEON GILBEAU
Portrayed as a 47 year old male
Serving in his official capacity of Osage County Sheriff as well as a personal role as a former high school friend of Barbara, he seeks to balance the two roles. He is surprisingly big-hearted and a calm within the storm.
